ACTN1 antisense RNA 1 (non-protein coding) (ACTN1-DT)

Target
ACTN1-DT
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), other (lncRNA gene)
01

Overview

ACTN1 divergent transcript (ACTN1-DT) is a long non-coding RNA gene (lncRNA) located at 14q24.1. It is transcribed antisense to the ACTN1 coding gene but does not encode a protein. ACTN1-DT is also known as ACTN1-AS1, C14orf84, and ACTN1 antisense RNA 1 (non-protein coding). There is little functional characterization of this lncRNA, and it is not classified as an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or canonical drug target. GWAS studies include associations at the locus, but mechanistic involvement in disease or therapy has not been established.

Biological functions

Other (There is currently no detailed functional annotation for ACTN1-DT; as a lncRNA, it may potentially have a role in transcriptional regulation or epigenetic modulation, but this has not been characterized)
03

Disease associations

Other (No well-established role in specific diseases; GWAS associations exist but are not validated or characterized—association studies report genomic correlations, not mechanistic causality)
