ACTR3 pseudogene 3 (ACTR3P3) is a human pseudogene related to the ACTR3 gene, which encodes actin-related protein 3. Unlike the functional ACTR3 gene, ACTR3P3 does not produce a protein and is not involved in any known biological processes or disease mechanisms. Pseudogenes are generally considered genomic DNA sequences similar to functional genes but are typically nonfunctional due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements. There is currently no evidence to support ACTR3P3 as a therapeutic target or disease biomarker. This entry is not a functional drug target, and should not be treated as such. The correct target for actin-related protein 3 would be the ACTR3 gene, not the ACTR3P3 pseudogene.
