The ADAM metallopeptidase domain 22 pseudogene (ENSG00000259769, also known as LOC646071) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the functional gene ADAM22. While its parent gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family, involved in nervous system development and synaptic function, the pseudogene itself does not produce a functional protein and has no known direct biological or therapeutic relevance[3][5]. Pseudogenes like this are generally considered genomic relics without clinical or pharmacological significance.
