Target intelligence / Profile preview
ADAMTS19 antisense RNA 1 (ADAMTS19-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on the opposite DNA strand of the ADAMTS19 protein-coding gene. As an antisense lncRNA, it is presumed to regulate the expression of the nearby ADAMTS19 gene or other genes at the transcriptional or epigenetic level. Antisense lncRNAs can impact gene expression through transcriptional interference or chromatin modification; however, there are currently no detailed functional, disease, or pharmacological associations described for ADAMTS19-AS1 specifically. No disease associations are directly reported for ADAMTS19-AS1. However, antisense lncRNAs in general may be involved in cancer and other diseases through epigenetic and transcriptional regulatory roles.
