Adenine nucleotide translocase (ANT) is a mitochondrial inner membrane protein responsible for exchanging ATP and ADP between the mitochondrial matrix and the cytoplasm. It plays a crucial role in cellular energy metabolism and is implicated in apoptosis and cancer metabolism. There are four main isoforms (ANT1-4) with distinct tissue-specific expression patterns.
