Target intelligence / Profile preview
Adenoviruses are a group of medium-sized, nonenveloped viruses with an icosahedral capsid structure that contain a double-stranded DNA genome. They are common pathogens in both humans and animals, capable of causing a wide range of illnesses, most frequently mild respiratory infections but also conjunctivitis, gastroenteritis, and other conditions. Adenoviruses are also used as vectors in gene therapy due to their ability to efficiently deliver genetic material without integrating it into host genomes.
