Target intelligence / Profile preview
An adenovirus-infected cell is a host cell that has been invaded by an adenovirus. Once inside, the virus hijacks cellular machinery to replicate its genome and produce new viral particles. These infections can cause a range of illnesses and the infected cells display viral antigens on their surface, triggering immune responses. Adenoviruses are also used as vectors for vaccines and gene therapy.
