Adhesion G protein-coupled receptor D2 (ADGRD2) is a transmembrane protein predominantly expressed in human tissues and belongs to the adhesion class of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). It is characterized by a long extracellular N-terminus, variable protein domains connected to a seven-transmembrane (TM7) region via a GAIN (GPCR-Autoproteolysis INducing) domain. ADGRD2 is an orphan receptor, meaning its endogenous ligand and physiological role have not been experimentally determined. It is predicted to participate in G protein-mediated signal transduction and may be involved in some aspects of cell adhesion and signaling, but its biological functions remain largely undefined. No drugs or endogenous ligands are recognized to act on this receptor, so its therapeutic relevance and molecular interactions remain under investigation[1][2][3][5][6][7].
