Adhesion G protein-coupled receptor L3 antisense RNA 1 (ADGRL3-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA located in the human genome on the negative strand of chromosome 4 at the ADGRL3 locus[1][2][8]. It produces multiple non-coding transcript isoforms, none of which code for protein[2]. As an antisense lncRNA, ADGRL3-AS1 may participate in the regulation of the adjacent ADGRL3 gene, which codes for a cell-adhesion G protein-coupled receptor involved in synaptic function. Antisense lncRNAs generally act by mechanisms such as transcriptional interference, chromatin modification, or regulation of sense transcript stability or translation[3][6]. There is currently no experimental evidence directly assigning a specific biological function or disease role to ADGRL3-AS1.
