The adiponectin receptor family, primarily AdipoR1 and AdipoR2, mediates the physiological effects of adiponectin. They activate AMPK and PPARα pathways, promote fatty acid oxidation and glucose uptake, and possess intrinsic ceramidase activity. Mechanism of action
