Agglutinin-like sequence protein 3 (Als3) is a cell surface glycoprotein found in the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans. It is a member of the ALS (agglutinin-like sequence) gene family, which encodes large cell-surface adhesins critical for fungal adherence, biofilm formation, and virulence. Als3 mediates attachment of C. albicans to host tissues and medical devices. It plays an essential role in biofilm development and facilitates invasion by inducing endocytosis.
