Target intelligence / Profile preview
Aiolos, encoded by the IKZF3 gene, is a hematopoietic-specific transcription factor belonging to the Ikaros family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It plays a crucial role in regulating B-cell differentiation, proliferation, and maturation, as well as T cell development and chromatin remodeling. Aiolos functions through homo- and heterodimerization with other Ikaros family members. Aberrant Aiolos function is implicated in primary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune diseases, and hematologic malignancies.
