Target intelligence / Profile preview
AK3 pseudogene 6 (AK3P6) is a human pseudogene that shares sequence similarity to the functional AK3 (adenylate kinase 3) gene but is not thought to produce functional protein[5][3][7]. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that resemble known genes but generally cannot encode a normal product because of mutations or lack of essential regulatory elements[7][10]. There is no evidence that AK3P6 plays a direct biological role or serves as a therapeutic target. Unlike some pseudogenes, AK3P6 has not been implicated as a regulator of its parent gene or in disease[5].
None applicable, as there are no drugs targeting AK3P6.
