Overview

Alanyl-tRNA synthetase 1 pseudogene 1 (AARS1P1) is classified as a pseudogene, specifically a non-functional genomic segment related to the protein-coding gene alanyl-tRNA synthetase 1 (AARS1)[1][6][7]. Unlike its parent gene AARS1, which encodes an enzyme essential for attaching alanine to tRNA during protein biosynthesis, AARS1P1 does not produce a functional protein product and is not associated with any known physiological or disease process. There is no evidence supporting any drug interaction, disease role, biomarker utility, or therapeutic targeting for AARS1P1[6][7]. AARS1P1 should not be confused with the functional AARS1 gene, which plays important roles in translation and certain pathologies, but AARS1P1 itself has no established function or relevance as a therapeutic target[1][6][7].
