Overview

GP60, also known as albondin, is a 60-kDa glycoprotein receptor predominantly expressed on the surface of vascular endothelial cells (except in brain tissues). It functions primarily as an albumin-binding protein, mediating the transcytosis of albumin across continuous endothelium via caveolae-mediated vesicle formation and G-protein–coupled signaling pathways. It plays a role in capillary permeability and is a target for drug delivery systems.
