Target intelligence / Profile preview
Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B1 pseudogene 3 (AKR1B1P3, "Coromarker") is a pseudogene located in the human genome[3]. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but generally non-functional due to the lack of proper transcription or translation mechanisms[3]. AKR1B1P3 does not produce a functional protein and is distinct from AKR1B1 (Aldose reductase), which plays important biological and disease roles. Any mention of AKR1B1P3 as a therapeutic target or receptor is thus incorrect. It is not recognized as a valid drug target, biomarker, or functional biological entity.
