Target intelligence / Profile preview
ALG1 like 15, pseudogene (abbreviation ALG1L15P) is a non-functional pseudogene located in the human genome that shares sequence similarity with the protein-coding ALG1 gene but does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes like ALG1L15P typically arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and accumulate mutations that prevent their expression or function. Unlike its parent gene ALG1 (Chitobiosyldiphosphodolichol beta-mannosyltransferase), which is essential for N-linked glycosylation and is associated with congenital disorders such as ALG1-CDG, ALG1L15P does not play a role in any known cellular processes, diseases, or pharmacological mechanisms.
