Allergen-specific IgG antibody production refers to the generation of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies that specifically recognize and bind to allergens. This process is a key component of the immune response, particularly in the context of allergen exposure and allergen immunotherapy (AIT). Allergen-specific IgGs, especially IgG4, play a central role in regulating secondary immune responses after exposure or therapy. They act mainly by competing with pathogenic IgEs, thus inhibiting downstream allergic inflammation. Their measurement serves both diagnostic and therapeutic monitoring purposes.
