Allergic response mediators are a group of molecules released primarily by mast cells and other immune cells during allergic reactions. These mediators are responsible for the symptoms observed in allergies, such as itching, swelling, bronchoconstriction, and increased mucus production. Their release is typically triggered when allergens cross-link IgE antibodies bound to high-affinity receptors (FcεRI) on mast cell surfaces.
