Allogeneic Cell-Based Immunotherapy

Molecular classification
Cell-based therapy, Immunotherapy
01

Overview

Allogeneic cell-based immunotherapy involves using immune cells from a healthy donor to activate or modulate the recipient's immune system, primarily for cancer treatment. It offers an "off-the-shelf" solution compared to autologous therapies. The donor cells, such as T cells, NK cells, or CAR-T cells, recognize and attack target antigens on diseased host tissues. A major challenge is host-versus-graft rejection, which is addressed through genetic engineering or lymphodepletion. Potential risks include graft-versus-host disease and off-target effects. This therapy holds promise in hematologic cancers, solid tumors, and infectious diseases.
