Target intelligence / Profile preview
Aln g 1 is the major allergen found in alder pollen (Alnus species) and belongs to the PR-10 protein family. It binds hydrophobic ligands and contains IgE-binding sites, which contribute to cross-reactivity with other tree pollens like birch and hazel. Aln g 1 acts as a sensitizer, triggering type I hypersensitivity reactions and upregulating alarmins in epithelial cells, leading to allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and asthma symptoms during the pollination season.
