Target intelligence / Profile preview
Alpha-2-macroglobulin pseudogene 1 (A2MP1) is classified as a transcribed, unprocessed pseudogene located on chromosome 12[6][7]. It is similar to functional alpha-2-macroglobulin family members, including the Pregnancy zone protein (PZP) and alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M), but lacks protein-coding capacity and characterized function[6][4][7]. As a pseudogene, A2MP1 neither encodes a functional protein nor is associated with known biological or disease processes, and is not considered a therapeutic target.
