Overview
Amb a 1 is the major allergen from ragweed pollen, responsible for most cases of ragweed allergy. It elicits a Th2-mediated immune response characterized by IgE production and eosinophilic inflammation. Allergen-specific immunotherapy aims to induce tolerance by modulating this response and promoting regulatory mechanisms.

Mechanism of action
Repeated controlled exposure to Amb a 1 to induce tolerance by modulating Th2 responses, inducing regulatory B/T cell subsets, suppressing mast cell/basophil/eosinophil activation, and increasing protective IgG subclasses.
