AMP-activated Protein Kinase Family Member 5 (ARK5)

Target
ARK5
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Serine/Threonine Kinase, AMPK Family
01

Overview

AMP-activated Protein Kinase Family Member 5 (ARK5), also known as NUAK1, is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the AMPK family. It plays a crucial role in cellular energy homeostasis by sensing AMP:ATP ratios and regulating metabolic pathways. ARK5 is implicated in cancer cell survival, migration, and invasion, particularly under metabolic stress conditions. Elevated ARK5 expression is observed in pancreatic adenocarcinoma and correlates with poor prognosis.
