Analgesic

"Analgesic" is a category of agents used to relieve pain (analgesia) without necessarily affecting consciousness or sensation globally. The term encompasses several classes of drugs (such as opioids, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), acetaminophen, and others), each acting via different receptors, enzymes, or other molecular targets involved in pain perception and modulation.
