ANAPC1 pseudogene 4 is a pseudogene, meaning it is a genomic DNA sequence similar to a gene but typically non-functional and does not code for a functional protein. It is related to the anaphase promoting complex subunit 1 gene (ANAPC1), which, when functional, is a component of the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), an E3 ubiquitin ligase essential for cell cycle regulation. However, ANAPC1P4 itself is not protein-coding, has no currently established biological function, molecular pathway, or disease association, and is not considered a therapeutic target[7]. There is no evidence that ANAPC1P4 encodes a protein or participates in biological pathways. It is distinct from ANAPC1, which is an enzyme with critical cell cycle functions[1][3][6]. Pseudogenes sometimes have roles in gene regulation, but there are no known regulatory or disease associations for ANAPC1P4 in the current literature[7]. No interacting drugs, disease relevance, or biomarker status is ascribed to ANAPC1P4.
