Processed pseudogenes arise by reverse transcription of parent gene mRNA and reintegration into the genome, typically lacking protein-coding function and introns. While some pseudogenes regulate their parent genes by acting as RNA decoys or sources of regulatory small RNAs, there is no experimental evidence for ANAPC10P1 having a distinct biological function, protein product, or role as a therapeutic target.
