Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK)

Target
ALK
Molecular classification
Receptor Tyrosine Kinase
01

Overview

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) is a receptor tyrosine kinase protein encoded by the ALK gene located on chromosome 2p23.2–p23.1. It plays a role in neural development, but its aberrant activation due to chromosomal rearrangements, mutations, or amplification is implicated in various cancers, including NSCLC, ALCL, and neuroblastoma. Several small-molecule inhibitors targeting ALK are clinically used.
