Angiogenic factor with G-patch and FHA domains 1 pseudogene 8 (AGGF1P8) is a pseudogene—a segment of DNA that structurally resembles a functional gene (AGGF1) but is generally not transcribed into a functional protein due to accumulated mutations[1][7][9]. Unlike active protein-coding genes, pseudogenes such as AGGF1P8 are generally considered nonfunctional "genomic fossils" and do not serve as therapeutic targets or produce known functional products.
