Target intelligence / Profile preview
Angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) is a secreted glycoprotein primarily expressed in the liver and plays a central role in lipid metabolism, angiogenesis, and disease states related to lipid disorders. It inhibits lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL), leading to increased plasma levels of triglycerides and affecting HDL metabolism. Inhibition of ANGPTL3 is a therapeutic target for dyslipidemias.
Inhibition of ANGPTL3 reduces plasma LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
