Angiopoietin-Related Protein Tyrosine Kinase 2 (TIE2)

Target
TIE2
Molecular classification
Receptor Tyrosine Kinase
01

Overview

TIE2, also known as TEK or CD202B, is a receptor tyrosine kinase primarily expressed on endothelial cells. It serves as a key regulator of angiogenesis, vascular maturation, and endothelial cell survival. It is activated by Angiopoietin-1 (ANGPT1) and modulated by Angiopoietin-2 (ANGPT2). Its dysregulation is implicated in various diseases involving abnormal vessel growth/leakage, including cancer and retinal diseases. Therapeutic strategies are being explored to modulate the Tie2 pathway for treating these disorders.
