Overview

ANKRD34C antisense RNA 1 (ANKRD34C-AS1) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA/lncRNA) located on chromosome 15 on the reverse strand. As an antisense transcript, it does not code for protein but may regulate gene expression by modulating the expression of its sense gene partner or other genes in cis or trans. Evidence suggests ANKRD34C-AS1 is significantly downregulated in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and may be involved in cancer biology as a regulatory RNA, but its biological function and clinical significance remain poorly understood and require further study. There are no known drug interactions, disease biomarkers, or established roles as a therapeutic target at this time.
