Overview
ASB12 encodes a protein with N-terminal ankyrin repeats for substrate recognition and a C-terminal SOCS box that mediates assembly with Elongin B/C, Cullin5, and Rbx2, forming part of a multi-subunit Cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase[1][5][6]. The ASB family facilitates targeted protein ubiquitination and degradation through this scaffold, although the biological targets and clinical significance of ASB12 remain unclear; other ASB proteins play roles in cell growth regulation and hematopoietic differentiation, but ASB12 itself is not well characterized[1][7]. No evidence currently supports its direct involvement as a therapeutic target or biomarker.
