Ankyrin repeat domain 20 family member A1 (ANKRD20A1) is a protein encoded by the ANKRD20A1 gene, containing multiple ankyrin repeat domains. Ankyrin repeats are structural motifs mediating protein–protein interactions and are among the most common protein interaction modules in eukaryotes. While ankyrin repeat proteins as a family are involved in diverse cellular processes, the precise physiological and pathological role of ANKRD20A1 remains uncharacterized in the literature. The protein is expressed in various tissues, with highest levels noted in testis-related tissues such as epididymis.
