Ankyrin repeat domain 30B pseudogene 1 (ANKRD30BP1) is a pseudogene in the human genome, annotated as having high sequence similarity to functional ankyrin repeat domain genes, but it does not produce a functional final protein product[2][7]. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences resembling known genes but are nonfunctional owing to disruptive mutations or lack of regulatory elements necessary for protein expression. Like most pseudogenes, ANKRD30BP1 accumulates mutations without selective pressure[7]. There is no evidence linking ANKRD30BP1 to biological processes, disease causation, or therapeutic targeting[2][7].
