Overview

Ankyrin repeat domain 35 (ANKRD35) is a human protein belonging to the ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein family, which is characterized by ankyrin repeat motifs mediating protein–protein interactions[1][2][3]. ANKRD35 is predicted to enable actin binding activity, though this function has not been experimentally validated[1][3][8]. Variants in ANKRD35 have been associated with human diseases such as autism spectrum disorder, TAR syndrome, and chromosomal syndromes involving 1q21.1, and have a possible role as a prognostic biomarker for response to tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy in chronic myeloid leukemia, suggesting an indirect involvement in cancer-related signaling[1][3][5]. The protein has broad predicted roles, but no direct evidence positions it as a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or signaling protein[1][10].
