Overview

Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 10 (ANKRD10) is a member of the ankyrin repeat domain-containing (ANKRD) protein family, characterized by the presence of ankyrin repeats—motifs known to mediate protein–protein interactions[3][6][8]. ANKRD10 is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13 and has at least two main transcript variants[1][3][5]. It is found in the nucleoplasm and is implicated in diverse cellular processes, particularly transcriptional regulation and signal transduction[2][3][5]. Altered methylation and expression of ANKRD10 have been associated with prognosis in glioblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma, suggesting its potential as a disease biomarker and possible role in tumor progression[2][3]. In bladder cancer, one splice variant of ANKRD10 (ANKRD10-2) has been shown to act as a transcriptional cofactor modulating MYC-dependent gene expression and tumor behavior[3]. While ANKRD10 plays roles in cancer and epigenetic regulation, it is not a classic therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or channel[3][5]. No approved drugs or well-established mechanisms of therapeutic action targeting ANKRD10 are currently known.
