Overview

Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 36B (ANKRD36B) is a human protein encoded by the ANKRD36B gene. It belongs to the family of ankyrin repeat domain-containing proteins, which are primarily involved in mediating protein-protein interactions in a wide variety of cellular processes. ANKRD36B contains multiple ankyrin repeat domains, but its specific molecular function is not well-characterized. Available evidence suggests it may be involved in cancer-related processes, with differential expression noted in tissues such as ocular melanoma and possible associations with giant axonal neuropathy. However, there are currently no established roles as a classic therapeutic target (such as being a receptor, ion channel, or enzyme), no reported small-molecule or biologic drugs targeting ANKRD36B, nor recognized use as a biomarker or therapeutic safety concern[1][4][6][8].
