Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 60 (ANKRD60)

Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 60 is a human protein encoded by the ANKRD60 gene, located on chromosome 20. The protein contains multiple ankyrin repeats, which are structural motifs known for mediating protein-protein interactions. Very limited functional characterization is available specifically for ANKRD60, but as with other ankyrin repeat domain proteins, it may play roles in cellular organization, intracellular signaling, or scaffolding. There is no strong evidence indicating ANKRD60 is a therapeutic target, nor is it classified as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor. The ANKRD60 gene has been associated genetically with intellectual developmental disorder, autosomal dominant, but there is no clear evidence implicating this protein directly in other disease mechanisms.
