Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 62 (ANKRD62) is a member of the ankyrin repeat domain family, characterized by protein–protein interaction motifs known as ankyrin repeats[1][3]. The precise biological function of ANKRD62 is not fully elucidated, but proteins of this family are typically involved in processes like cell–cell signaling, maintenance of cytoskeleton integrity, transcriptional regulation, and stabilization of genome architecture, especially during chromosomal rearrangements[1][3]. Current studies have not identified ANKRD62 as a validated drug target or biomarker, nor have they linked it directly to major human pathologies. Its known aliases include DKFZp779B1634 and ANR62_HUMAN. Ankyrin repeat proteins as a group play critical roles in mediating specific protein–protein interactions but generally lack intrinsic enzymatic activity[3]. Notes: - Do not confuse with ANKRD22, another ankyrin repeat domain protein that has published links to cancer and fostamatinib interaction[2]. No such data exists for ANKRD62[1]. - Research is ongoing, and more may be known in the future, but as of now ANKRD62 is not considered a validated therapeutic target[1].
