Target intelligence / Profile preview
Annexin A1 is a multifunctional protein with significant roles in inflammation, immune regulation, and cell membrane dynamics. It is a member of the annexin family of Ca2+-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins. Alterations in Annexin A1 expression or function have been implicated in various pathophysiological processes including chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer progression due to its central role in modulating both innate and adaptive immunity.
Acts as an effector in glucocorticoid-mediated anti-inflammatory responses and regulates various aspects of the inflammatory process by inhibiting phospholipase A2 activity.
