Annexin A2 pseudogene 2 (ANXA2P2)

Annexin A2 pseudogene 2 (ANXA2P2) is a processed pseudogene of the annexin A2 gene, mapped to chromosome 9p13, which does not encode a functional protein but is Aberrantly transcribed in some cancers. ANXA2P2 transcripts are homologous to ANXA2, and elevated expression of ANXA2P2 is associated with enhanced migration and invasion of hepatocellular carcinoma cells, correlating with poor overall survival and prognosis in affected patients.
