"Anti-inflammatory cytokine stimulation" is a term describing the treatment or experimental exposure of cells, tissues, or organisms to cytokines known for their immunosuppressive or inflammation-resolving properties, such as interleukin-10 (IL-10), interleukin-4 (IL-4), and IL-13. Administration of these cytokines can downregulate pro-inflammatory responses, promote the M2 phenotype in macrophages, dampen harmful immune activation, and facilitate resolution of inflammation and tissue repair. This approach is under investigation for its therapeutic potential in chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, but challenges include a risk of broadly suppressing immunity and thereby increasing infection risk[5][6][7][8].
