Anti-Müllerian hormone receptor type 2 (AMHR2), also known as Müllerian Inhibiting Substance Type II Receptor, is a transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptor that specifically binds anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH). It plays a critical role in sexual differentiation and reproductive system development. AMHR2 mediates signaling by binding anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), which triggers regression of the Müllerian ducts during male embryonic development and regulates folliculogenesis and ovarian function in females. Measurement of circulating AMH serves as a biomarker for ovarian reserve/fertility assessment and diagnosis/monitoring of reproductive disorders.
