Overview

"Anti-tumor effect" refers to the broad outcome or phenotype resulting from interventions that inhibit tumor cell proliferation, survival, invasion, or metastasis. It is commonly used as a measure of therapeutic efficacy in cancer research and clinical studies, but it does not correspond to a unique molecular entity, receptor, or pathway[6][7]. Instead, it can result from the modulation of many different molecular targets, such as kinases, growth factor receptors, immune checkpoints, or signaling pathways, by various therapies including targeted drugs, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or other interventions[2][4][6]. The term cannot be attributed to a specific canonical target or molecular family.
