Target intelligence / Profile preview
Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) is an immune defense mechanism in which effector cells of the immune system actively lyse a target cell that has been bound by specific antibodies. This process is mediated through the interaction between the Fc region of antibodies and Fc receptors on effector cells.
Antibodies bind target cells, Fc region engages Fc receptors on effector cells, activating cytotoxic response.
