Target intelligence / Profile preview
An antigen-presenting cell (APC) is a type of immune cell that plays a central role in initiating and regulating the adaptive immune response. APCs detect, engulf, process, and present antigens—molecular fragments from pathogens or abnormal cells—on their surface to T lymphocytes. This presentation is essential for activating T cells and orchestrating an effective immune response against infections, tumors, or other threats.
Antigen presentation via MHC class I and II molecules to T cells, co-stimulation via CD80/86, and cytokine signaling.
