"Antigen-presenting cell activation via dendritic cell recruitment" refers to an immunological process by which **dendritic cells** (DCs)—a specialized subset of antigen-presenting cells—are attracted to sites of inflammation or tumor by chemokines and other recruitment signals. Upon arrival, DCs interact with antigenic material, undergo maturation (upregulating MHC and costimulatory molecules), and present processed antigens to naïve T cells, thereby initiating adaptive immune responses. This process is central to immune surveillance, tumor immunity, and the regulation of self-tolerance and autoimmunity. Dysregulation can contribute to insufficient tumor immunity, infectious disease susceptibility, or excessive inflammation and autoimmunity.
