Antigen-presenting cell (APC) activation via heat shock protein (HSP)-mediated cross-presentation of tumor antigens is a key immunological process in which HSPs, acting as molecular chaperones, bind tumor-derived peptides and facilitate their uptake and presentation by APCs—primarily dendritic cells (DCs) and macrophages. This mechanism enables the immune system to recognize and mount responses against tumor antigens that would otherwise evade detection.
