AP3S1 pseudogene 2 (AP3S1P2)

Overview

AP3S1 pseudogene 2 is a genetic sequence highly similar to the AP3S1 gene but is classified as a pseudogene. Pseudogenes are non-functional segments of DNA and do not encode active proteins. While the parent gene AP3S1 is part of the heterotetrameric adaptor protein complex-3 involved in intracellular vesicle trafficking, AP3S1P2 itself does not play a known biological or therapeutic role.
